January Review

Here the first monthly review in my Blog:

Because I started my blog just in the middle of the month, let me tell you that this month was the best I ever had. I think 3k winnings and about 4k+ with RB is not really bad;)

So seen on my goals for 2011 I´m good on pace and i hope this will go on like this in February!

I also never had such a high pensum in one month which is based on the high motivation and the high winnings. Running good --> higher motivation

VPP´s I made 17k this month and this although I played about 500 games on Full Tilt. So there should be no problem in reaching the 200k Milestone at the end of the year, may be even the 300k. I really hope that I can hold such results for the next months and really establish on this limits so that I can move up to the highstakes during this year!


Ps: The  MTT´s yesterday went really bad: I couldn´t cash in any of them and at the end I got busto for 3x avg in the Turbo Takedown by a sick setup (bigstack pushs over 2 all-ins with AK including mine with QQ and hits his ace). ITM in the TT would ~ brought back my invested money but yeah..

Weekly Update/MTT-Night

At first I want to post the results of the last 7 days.


There has been nothing special in this week. I ran a little bit like last week, loosing the entire winnings on one day of the weekend.

I hope this won´t happen every week now ;)
Seen on all just a normal week and - 3 BI is nearly BE and it could be much worse;)

Tomorrow you will see a review of January and that should be pretty interesting.


I had some problems with the tracking of my Pokerstars games on Sharkscope and realized that there are missing about 1/4 of my $27 games. I get the answer that there might problems with the tracking sometimes and because of this, I´ll import all games per hand every 200 tournaments. With Full Tilt I had never problems  in tracking.


Because of today´s double Guarentees at Full Tilt I´m playing some MTT´s at the moment.

LCD finally here/New Goal

My new LCD arrived today and I´m really in love with it!

It´s just awesome when you had a diagonal of 58cm for over 10 years and now you watch TV with a 107cm diagonal!

And when you see what´s possible with poker and that this costed just 5% of my BR, you get even more and more motiviation!


So now I have a new aim:

I want to buy a new poker setup for my home so that I can play on a new computer and 2-3 monitors and on a comfortable chair!

At the moment I´m playing on my 19' Laptop while lying on my bed. Although I can watch TV and relax on my bed that´s not the best case for my back!

And because my Laptop is about 2 1/2 years old, I can´t play more than 20 tables with HUD and TableNinja at the same time. So a new poker setup would be really great although I have to think about how to place it in the room because my room isn´t the biggest one in the world and I would like to watch TV on my new LCD while grinding.


I don´t know exactly how many $ I will take for this project but I think with a good chair, a good computer and 2 monitors it will be around $2k.

Because I always want to have something like 200-300 avg. BI I have to make a little bit of money in the next months. So if there comes no big downswing in the next 2 months I´ll think I can do this in this period of time.


PS: You may have recognized that I´m playing the $60 at Pokerstars as well now. Just because i get more VPP´s and my avg. BI is still at $35 with #12 $27, #5 $38 and #3 $60.

Weekly Update

This will be my first weekly update and let me tell you that I´m used to make updates every week and every month.

Why? Just because daily updates make no sense seen on the low sample. So weekly and monthly are good time periods for updates.

The fist half of the week started good and I thought I could perhaps already reach the 10k this week. But then things went the other way and because it didn´t stop with running BE and I dropped today about $600, I´ll have to wait a little bit longer for the 10k. But that´s poker and there´s nothing you can do about it.

But there´s nothing bad in this at all because I didn´t go down and this month is still the best I ever had. So let´s see what the last week brings, let´s hope for the best!

New LCD

A few days ago I thought that it would be time to get a new TV seen on the fact that my old is over 10 years old and only 58cm. (New one 107!)

So today I went to an electronic shop and after I had picked one I bought it at Amazon (because it´s always cheaper on the internet).

I paid it from my poker-winnings and it´s a good feeling when you see something real you´ve bought instead of only some numbers. I also can use it as a monitor for my laptop which will hopefully make my grinding times more comfortably.

Goals 2011

• Because it´s the beginning of the year, I think i have to give an overview about my aims of the year 2011, too.

After finishing school in April, I will have time til October until university starts. I want to study Geographics. That is the subject I´m most interested and best in. So I´ll have many time for poker seen on the aspect, that I have a only a sidejob in a pub where I work around 1-2 times a week.

So my aims in the matter of samplesize will be around of 1,5k/month which means around ~18k games this year.

In the matter of winnings Ít´s hard to make a goal because you can´t really say how things will go in the case of Rakeback, downswings etc.

But I think if I earn 2k/month in the whole year I would be really happy.

And since the year has just begon I want to move up to the highest SnG limits although I don´t know if I will play them or grind some of the midstakes. Time will show up! And of course, a passably long term ROI on the midstakes about >3%.

In the matter of the VIP Programm from Stars it would be really nice to at least reach the 200k milestone beacause this is an essential Rakeback-boost. Perhaps even more is possible, beacuse I dont´t know yet how long I will play on Full Tilt.

First Post/Overview

Below are some facts of my poker life before July 2011 (STTs)



So, hello to to all fans of poker, especially the SnG players!

"Why do you make this blog?", you may think. So here are some facts:

I already have a blog for more than a year on a poker-training site called "Pokerstrategy".
So then you may think: Why making a new one?
At first, I thought the same. But after reading many other blogs which I found very interesting, I decided that the way of having a blog on a site that´s just for me. Here i can modify the whole site and all is more structured and clear then in a forum where you only have post after post from everyone. And here I write in English and hope to get new readers by doing this because my old one was written in German.

Here I can modify every single thing of the blog starting with comments over to design and ending with special features like counters.

So I hope that many of my old readers will find the way to this new one! And I also hope to get some new readers who are interested in my blog.


So now let´s go to the poker facts!

As you can read in the discription, I actually play on Pokerstars and Full Tilt. Why?
I made my way up over the $12 SnG´s at Full Tilt and so I have already 7 months participated in the Iron man challenge and earned the Black Card status. By only playing 500 points/day I´m getting a very good % of Rakeback and don´t want to give this up.

So, when I have done my 500 points on Full Tilt, the rest of the day is played on Pokerstars, where i want to reach Supernova. I think it´s possible to reach even the 200k or 300k milestone! Just when I think that I´m moving up in limits and don´t play them the entire year.

Next topic: How is poker acutally running?

So I can say that at the moment I´m riding on a nice upswing. I have about 300 BI for my limit. Why not moving up you may think?
It´s simple: I have no sample on this limit and want to make this first before moving up. So I´m save in swings.

Now i post the graph´s of my 2 accounts. The one on Full Tilt is from the beginning of November. Since this I played poker seriously again after a gambling period of about 6 months. This graph includes $12 up to 1,5k games and the rest are $24-$36, including about 20 $60 games.

On Pokerstars I play since the beginning of the year. There I mostly play the $27 games and mix them with the $38.

At the moment I have stars on sharkscope with both accounts. This is based on a good upswing this year and, fore sure, I can´t hold both stars just because Í only play one set on Full Tilt per day.
So it would be great to hold the Pokerstars one. I´m even the leader of the Pokerstars players at the moment on my limit!

So by now I think i gave you a good overview of my poker life and just want you to have fun by reading my blog and hopefully not critizise every word or grammatic fault I make. Remember: I´m from Germany and only learned English in school :)
